Last season, Hyundai made a strong impression by taking several victories with its Hyundai i30 N. This year Hyundai has introduced the newly released Hyundai Veloster N to TCR and much like the i30 N, it has been designed for racing in mind.
The driver who took the win for Hyundai is Mason Filippi who at the age of twenty gave the TCR Veloster N its first victories and global competition level. Despite losing his qualifying time, he fought through traffic to take the win in the end.

It was a great weekend in the Hyundai Veloster N TCR. I had great battles with the FCP Euro guys and I’m really glad to be on the podium with them. The Veloster N TCR held on strong through the entire weekend. It started out first and ended up first. I’m really excited to be here. TFB Performance is great and I’m so thankful for my family for being here. I can’t wait for the next one.

Runner ups in the competition were not slow cars with the notorious Golf GTI TCR, and the Alfa Romeo Giulieta TCR right behind them. The battle was hard fought. Furthermore, these two vehicles that in stock form cost more than the Veloster N, should speak alone for the amount of effort Hyundai has put in the N line.
The Veloster N was not the only Hyundai to claim victory at the Circuit of the Americas with Ricca Rallies taking the lead with a last lap pass in the Hyundai Genesis Coupe claiming a victory in the TC class. Overall, Hyundai is continuing to grow in motorsports with a great number of success.
With rally efforts and road course victories, Hyundai looks to make a more permanent mark by creating a successful racing history with the N-Model, we can only hope that Hyundai will continue this trend for years to come, but at least for now it looks like they are going for the gold this year.
