KIA Motors UK gave us today more light about the long-awaited hot Cee’d models, revealing a bunch of details related to the coupé-like Pro_Cee’d GT and the 5-door Cee’d GT.
As far as we knew, the GT were planned on the sporty Pro_Cee’d only, but apparently a 5-door version will be available as well. Fitted with a 1.6-liter, T-GDI unit seen on the Veloster Turbo and a 6-speed manual transmission, it’s good for 204 hp and an expected 0-100 km/h in about 7.9 s.
Equipment is set to be generous, including Recaro seats, 18-inch alloy wheels, LED 4-point running daylights and a special tuning in suspension and brakes. Minor details such as specific paint finishings will be available too.
Production of the new Cee’d GT family will start in Zilina, Slovakia in May 2013, to be launched during summer.
