In a major move that significantly enhances the electric vehicle ownership experience, Kia EV drivers can now access more than 21,500 Tesla Superchargers across the United States. Combined with the 22,000+ DC fast chargers already available through other networks, Kia electric vehicle owners now have access to over 40,000 DC fast chargers nationwide. This expanded access promises greater convenience and a dramatic reduction in range anxiety for Kia EV users.

Seamless Integration with Tesla Superchargers via Kia Access App

Kia EVs equipped with the standard North American Charging Standard (NACS) ports or compatible NACS adapters can now connect to the Tesla Supercharger network. This integration is managed through the Kia Access app for iOS or Android, where drivers can locate, monitor, and navigate to available charging stations. The app provides real-time updates on charger availability, status, and pricing, making it easier than ever to stay charged on the go.

Users can also access this functionality through their EV’s infotainment screen or compatible smartphone devices, creating a streamlined, tech-forward experience that aligns with Kia’s commitment to connected mobility.

Kia Charge Pass and Enrollment

Enrollment in the Tesla Supercharger program is made possible through the Kia Charge Pass, which is available within the Kia Access app. This unified access simplifies the charging process, offering a consistent and hassle-free experience across multiple charging networks.

A Word from Kia Leadership

Seungkyu (Sean) Yoon, President and CEO of Kia North America and Kia America, emphasized the brand’s mission:

“Kia is committed to an exceptional ownership experience, and expanding the network of available DC fast chargers to our EV customers is an important component to maintaining the brand’s leadership in electrified mobility. Now, with access to the Tesla Supercharger network of DC fast chargers, our EV owners can feel even more confident in their decision to purchase or lease a fully electric Kia vehicle.”

Addressing Infrastructure and Customer Support

With this new partnership, Kia has expanded its available charging network by more than 80%, a significant step forward in supporting the rapidly growing EV market. Tesla Superchargers are considered critical infrastructure, and Kia America strongly condemns recent attacks on charging stations that have disrupted service and accessibility for EV drivers.

To support customers who own Kia EVs with the CCS1 charging port, NACS-to-CCS1 adapters are now available at Kia dealerships, ensuring compatibility and accessibility across various charging systems.

Clarification on Recent International Marketing Posts

Kia America also addressed recent marketing posts by certain Nordic distributors. The company clarified that these initiatives were created independently and do not reflect the official position of Kia America, Kia Europe, or Kia Global. Kia America reaffirmed its commitment to clear, professional, and value-driven communication.
