Hyundai Motor has officially expanded its award-winning electric lineup with the introduction of the IONIQ 3. This fully electric compact hatchback is specifically engineered for the European market, blending the brand’s “Progress for Humanity” vision with practical, everyday usability.By combining the bold “Art of Steel” design philosophy with state-of-the-art E-GMP technology, the IONIQ 3 aims to make electric mobility more intuitive and accessible than ever before.

A New Typology: The “Aero Hatch”

The IONIQ 3 debuts a unique “Aero Hatch” silhouette. This design isn’t just about aesthetics; it is a masterclass in aerodynamic efficiency, achieving a drag coefficient of 0.263.

  • Morse Code Heritage: In a nod to Hyundai’s identity, the exterior features four central dots—the Morse code for the letter “H.”

Performance and Range Built for Europe

Underpinned by the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the IONIQ 3 utilizes a 400-volt architecture to deliver a balance of power and efficiency. Drivers can choose between two battery configurations to suit their lifestyle:

The “Furnished Space” Interior

Inside, the IONIQ 3 defies its compact dimensions. Thanks to a flat-floor layout and a 2,680 mm wheelbase, the cabin offers “upper-segment” roominess, comfortably accommodating three adults in the rear.

  • Storage Innovation: The vehicle boasts a 441-liter total luggage capacity, which includes the innovative Megabox—a 119-liter concealed storage area beneath the trunk floor.
  • Sustainable Luxury: The interior features recycled and bio-based materials inspired by 1970s Italian furniture design. Available features include Relaxation Seats, a BOSE® Premium Sound System, and dual-zone climate control.

The IONIQ 3 is the first Hyundai model in Europe to feature the Pleos Connect infotainment system. Based on Android Automotive OS (AAOS), it offers a choice of a 12.9-inch or 14.6-inch display with sharp graphics and deep customization.

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) include:

  • Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA2): For effortless motorway journeys.
  • Remote Smart Parking Assist (RSPA): Park your car using just the key fob.
  • Hyundai Digital Key 2: Use your smartphone or wearable as a secure key.
  • Vehicle-to-Load (V2L): Power external devices directly from the car’s battery.

European Roots, Global Vision

Designed in Europe and produced at the İzmit plant in Türkiye, the IONIQ 3 represents Hyundai’s commitment to local development. Whether you choose the elegant standard model or the sporty N Line variant, the IONIQ 3 is ready to redefine the electric compact segment.

“With IONIQ 3, we are bringing the bold design and advanced features of the IONIQ brand to a broader range of customers across Europe,” says Xavier Martinet, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Europe.
