Genesis to Announce European Plans on May 4th

“It’s about time” they said and yes, it was a long time since Genesis left the European market a few years after the launch of half Hyundai – half Genesis sedan back in 2015. Now as independent brand and with two SUVs on its range, and with another EV Crossover in the works (not forgetting the amazing third-gen G80) Genesis will announce its plans for Europe on May 4th.

Genesis Premieres All-New eG80, Their First EV

Today, global luxury automotive brand Genesis officially introduced its first electric vehicle, the electric model of the G80 (hereafter, Electrified G80) to the global market at the 2021 Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition (hereafter, Auto Shanghai 2021), which took place at the Shanghai National Exhibition and Convention Center. The occasion marked Genesis’ first appearance at Auto Shanghai.

Genesis G80 Sport Spied Back on the Road

The story behind the third gen Genesis G80 Sport goes a long way, after several delays, the car was scheduled to be released during the first quarter of 2021, but the electric version or eG80 won the launch race. The new pictures courtesy of our colleagues at MotorsJason, showed two different units of the G80 Sport, with different designed alloy wheels. The reveal is still unkown, but this is the first time we seen it since December 2020.

G80 EV Passed Certification, Confirmed the G80e Nameplate

Today we want to share with you the nomenclature of first Genesis electric vehicle, based on the G80. The G80e have passed emission certification in South Korea, and while have confirmed the nameplate, this certification also confirms an inminent release. As usual, after this test were approved, the vehicles are announced a few weeks later.
