After we shared a rendering image, the 2021 Hyundai Santa Cruz Pickup prototype continues undergoing some test, this time a prototype of the pickup were spotted near Hyundai Motor Group’s Namyang R&D Center. There are less camouflage we can see that side skirts had a different design if you compare it with the All-New Tucson, from which it derives and will take some inspiration, specially at the front.
Hyundai’s currently product portfolio have right now from small hatchbacks to sedans to SUVs, but we can all agree that they are missing one important bodystyle in their portfolio, a mid-size pick-up. This could be covered by the Santa Cruz, but we can place it as an upscale model. Check this nice render by Enoch Gonzales.
Hyundai’s have recently released the Palisade Calligraphy trim as its top trim in South Korea. The Palisade, which is scheduled for a year-end change in early May, will add the top-level trim “Calligraphy” that changes the design and enhances the sense of quality, something that were complaint by local customers.
Today and thanks to our colleagues at Motor1.com, we have got access to a spy video of Hyundai’s next high performance vehicle, the i20 N, while running inside the Green Hell at the Nürburgring, Germany, and the only think we can say is that the engine soundtrack is music to our ears.
What 3rd stage development means? Usually Hyundai & Kia uses 3 prototype stages, with the 1st stage using a silver/white exterior colour car, with different coloured bumpers, non-painted grille and some details missing. The 2nd stage adds a fully uniform paint and new details suchs as production wheels and chromed details while the 3rd stage is the key to understand we are close to production. You just need to take a look to the new photo set of the 4th generation Tucson.
