Kia Motors America announces best-ever September sales.

Kia Motors America (KMA) today announced best-ever September sales of 35,609 units, a 18.4-percent increase over the same period last year and the company’s 13th straight monthly sales record. Kia’s design-led transformation has delivered unprecedented growth and market share gains, and with year-to-date sales up 37.1 percent, KMA bested its previous record annual sales total in less than nine months. The refreshed 2012 Kia Soul lands in UK.

The most important change for the 2012 Soul is the presentation of a new 1.6-liter petrol gasoline direct injection (GDi) engine and a revised version of the 1.6-liter CRDi, both hooked up to a six-speed manual gearbox that replaces the previous five-speed unit. Apart from the gasoline model, the diesel version is optionally available with a new 6sp auto in place of the former 4sp transmission. (more…)

2012 Kia Soul starting at $13,900.

The Kia Soul has sold 65,118 units so far this year, in the US, close to twice as many as last year, and is now consistently racking up sales every month of over 10,000 units. The refreshed 2012 model will throw gasoline on the fire with updated engines, styling tweaks and new infotainment options, and Kia has confirmed it won’t be messing too much with one of the Soul’s best selling points: its low price.
