최근 2세대 현대 i30를 시승할 기회가 있었다. 하지만 현대는 아직 i30 5도어 해치백과 i30 왜건만 출시했을 뿐, 더 스포티한 3도어 i30는 아직 베일에 싸여 있다.
한국 현대 i30 팬클럽 회원들이 최종 양산 전 테스트 중인 3도어 i30 프로토타입을 최근 포착했다. 스파이샷을 자세히 살펴보면, 현대는 i30 3도어에 독자적인 정체성을 부여해 더욱 공격적인 외관 디자인을 적용한 것으로 보인다.
현대 유럽 사장 앨런 러쉬포스에 따르면, 현대는 벨로스터 터보(유럽에도 출시)에 사용된 1.6 가솔린 직분사 터보(T-GDi) 엔진(약 180~190마력)을 탑재한 고성능 버전을 검토 중이다. 그런데 여기서 궁금한 점이 있다. 이 i30 핫 해치가 벨로스터 터보의 라이벌이 될 수 있을까?

There is one thign i don't understand - what for is Veloster turbo in Europe? No chance against i30... And why i30 will not be truth hot hatch - with over 8 sec 0-100... max warmed hatch:)

is not a 3 door i30, just see the frame (2nd door) behind of the pilot door, same size than first door! and see a picture of the 3door Rio that hasn't 2nd door frame in the rear glass.
